The first mentions of the gear wheel machining in the Machine-works date back to the year 1910. Sixteen years later thanks to the growing production there was established the Department for gear wheels.
The production of gear wheels became an important element of the firm engineering production. The gearworks participated by the sub-deliveries in the implementation of all important investment units constructed by the parent company in many countries round the world.
An important change in the Gearworks existence happened on February the 1st 2002 when there was established the VÍTKOVICE Gearworks , a.s., the VÍTKOVICE a.s. subsidiary company.
On 27.07.2005 the company was renamed to VÍTKOVICE GEARWORKS a.s.
